GRANDPARENTS RAISING GRANDCHILDREN
Many grandparents often lack information about the range of support services and policies they need to fulfill their caregiving role. To help remedy this situation, a group of child and aging advocacy and research organizations, including AARP, the Children's Defense Fund and the Child Welfare League of America, has prepared Kinship Care Fact Sheets for each state. They can provide you with a comprehensive list of kinship care family resources and services in your state along with information about key public benefit programs and kinship care laws. You can access this data by going to the Web sites of any of the above-mentioned organizations or by typing in "kinship care fact sheets" in your search engine.
